Toddlers in.....Bikinis?

As the weather gets warmer and the pools begin to open, swimming becomes a favorite activity for my family. This has been the first weekend that it has been warm enough to get out in the water where I live, so we decided to take my lil' miss down the water for some fun. However, the fun ended before it could begin when her father saw the swimsuit that I had put on her. Apparently, in his eyes, putting a two-piece bathing suit on a toddler is one of the seven deadly sins.

Now, don't get me wrong....it wasn't like I threw a string bikini on the girl. It covered what needed to be covered. His reaction, however, has me wondering...are two-piece bathing suits on little girls inappropriate? Cody insisted her boobs would fall out (Really? What boobs? She's two) and that kind of attire is just too provocative for someone of her age. I respected his wishes and decided to choose my battles, so I put this cute little number on her instead.
Despite giving in, I'm still a supporter of two-pieces on babies and toddlers. Why? Well for one, they are just so gosh darn CUTE! I LOVE protruding baby bellies, and if you got it, you might as well flaunt it. Second of all, have you ever tried to put a complicated, tight, spandex swimsuit on a squirmy toddler. It simply does not work. I swear....it's nearly impossible. It's even more difficult to take off once it's wet and stuck to their skin, especially now that my daughter is potty training and constantly has to go back and forth to the bathroom when she's swimming. The two pieces are like putting on panties or shorts....SO much easier. I guess if her father insists she wear the complicated one-piece, he can be the one to take her to the bathroom every thirty minutes.

Oh Baby, Baby..It's a Wild World

I always wanted to start a blog. Pretty much everyday, I cruise the internet for fashion blogs, beauty blogs, parenting blogs, healthy living blogs.......so I finally decided to start my own. One that would include all of the above. My name is Cassie. I'm a 22 year old college student and the mother of a beautiful little girl. My two year old daughter, Izabella, pretty much makes my world go round. I'm planning on marrying her father and my boyfriend of five years, Cody, in September, so you will probably be seeing a lot of wedding blogging mixed in here too. This is just a good old, wholesome blog about being a woman, as well as a momma and a wife.
